Empowering Girls, Engaging Elders
This Course project focuses on addressing issues related to women's hygiene and education in underdeveloped countries, specifically targeting menstrual hygiene among girls in Kenya. The project involved designing a booklet titled "Empowering Girls, Engaging Elders," aimed at improving menstrual health by involving community elders. The booklet includes program details, challenges, key points, solutions, and impacts, and serves as an invitation to a workshop for influential leaders. The design follows social innovation and service design principles, ensuring cultural sensitivity and a user-centered approach. Additionally, a storyboard and persona, "Makena," are used to illustrate the journey and experiences of a young girl, highlighting the importance of mentorship from elders in breaking menstrual taboos and fostering a supportive environment.
